You Have Questions, We Have Answers!

I'm ready to enroll, now what?

Great! We are so excited you have chosen Ascend Studios for your dance education. The first step to enrollment is to create a Parent Portal with our management system DanceStudio PRO. Go HERE to begin online registration. Prefer to register in person? That's fine! Contact us to set up a time to stop in and complete enrollment.

What is the annual Membership Fee?

Our annual membership fee is similar to a 'registration fee' and during open enrollment periods, that fee reserves your space in a class. Being a member has a lot of additional perks as well. Members can take advantage of early enrollment for any new season. Members also receive membership pricing on camps, workshops, events, and masterclasses. Plus, we have special members-only events several times a year.

How much is tuition?

Our tuition is paid out in monthly installments that are generally $52.00. See our TUITION & POLICIES page for more detailed information.

Are you an Epic Charter Schools Vendor?

Yes! Ascend Studios is an Epic Charter Schools Vendor. Thinking of enrolling as an Epic Student? (this sets up billing to your learning fund) Please contact our office, or fill out this form online! A $35 admin fee applies to Epic student accounts, & is charged to the learning fund at the beginning of the Season.

What should we wear to class?

Ascend Studios has a general 'black & pink' dress code for most ballet classes: black or pink leotard, and 'pink' or skintone tights and shoes. To see what to wear in all types of classes, download our full school dresscode HERE Don't forget! We are proud retailers of Revolution Dancewear and can help you outfit you/your student for class right in the studio with teacher approved dancwear! *We DO encourage dancers of different skin tones to match their shoes and tights to their own unique color. Contact us to find out how.

How do we know what Division or Level our student should enroll in?

We try to keep it simple, but sometimes there are questions about which class would be best for your student. Below are some guidelines but we recommend you contact us to chat about your child's placement if you have any doubts about which class would be best! Our philosophy is that we want every student happy, dancing, challenged but not overwhelmed - and growing! This means we do sometimes make exceptions for students when it comes to our Divisions (which are by age), and our Levels (which are by skill). We have several class DIVISIONS separated by AGE: Foundations Division: ages 2-5 years Primary Division: ages 6-8 years Elementary Division: ages 9-11 years Youth Division: ages 12-18 years Adult Division: ages 19 and up Any class that is listed without a level designated is an 'all levels' class! Beginners are welcome. Any Level I class is also considered a beginner level class! Level II classes and above may require special permission/placement to enroll. Generally, our Level II classes are for intermediate level students. Foundations Level II classes are for ages 4-5 only, and we prefer students in Level II have 1 year previous experience in Level I. Some interemediate & advanced classes may not be viewable for online enrollment. Contact our office for more information!

When is open enrollment / beginning of the Season?

Ascend operates similarly to our local schools, with our main season running August - May/early June and our Summer season running June-July. Open Enrollment for a new season will generally open in the preceeding May. Open Enrollment for a summer season is generally up for online enrollment in March.

Do you have classes for adults?

Yes! We love to have classes for adults. Our adult classes usually run in a "series". 6 weeks, 8 weeks or 10 weeks of classes. The best way to stay up-to-date on our adult class offerings is to check out our FB page events HERE for all the details on any current class series being offered.

What about performances/recitals?

Our dancers work hard all season to learn new skills & the technique needed to execute them. We love to show them off at our annual spring recital! Generally held the first week of June each year, our annual recital is a special affair & an important part of any dancers training as well. Additional cost is involved to participate in recital, see the current Season's Parent Welcome Packet for up-to-date information, or contact our office.

What is Ascend Dance Ambassadors?

Our Ascend Dance Ambassadors are a performance group designed to give students more opportunities to hone their skills & perform. Our mission is to take our art into our communities to 'do good'. We perform for community events & benefits regularly each season, & our students reap the rewards of those experiences both on and off the dance floor. We hold auditions for Ascend Ambassadors annually, each June for both our Jr. Ambassadors ages 9 -11 and our Sr. Ambassadors ages 12 -18.
